Sunset over the UK, is an experimental mixed media work first I painted the sky with acrylic paint then I applied an image transfer of the UK and Eire from space and finally I made some changes using an iPad app.

This work, Coral on the sea floor, is an acrylic painting on canvas board then I applied an image transfer for an additional textured layer.

This work, Turtle on the sea floor, was built up in layers, firstly I created an acrylic painting and then I applied an image transfer on top that was printed on a transparency film using an inkjet printer.

These two works both include frottage, rubbings taken with graphite, including a Virginia creeper leaf and wood, to help depict abstract Autumn images.

This mixed media work was created by painting first then I used frottage – taking rubbings from shells, bark and also mesh – to produce this multi-layered and textured work.

On the sea floor (2016) mixed media on paper
This painting (now finished) is inspired by my visit last summer to a beautiful, small island near Korcula that gave amazing views of mainland Croatia. The painting includes a series of glazes.

Following a recent visit to Cornwall, these art works focus on expressive drawing and are abstract landscapes inspired by the remote beaches, coves and cliffs on the north coast. The three mixed media art works are on paper (29.7cm x 42cm).

Landing Gallery
The More than brushstrokes art show is the grand finale of the fabulous Advanced Painting Practice course that I’ve been taking at Morley College. Two of my paintings are part of the show as well as art works by other students. The show starts on 23rd March and finishes on 28th April.
