Firstly, organic shapes to form five distinct areas were drawn, secondly, random colours were chosen, one colour at time, to mix and apply (with some final adjustments). By playing the class exercise, painting scrabble, this painting, “Colourfield” was made.

Thank you to everyone who came to the City Lit Fine Art course show! The show was very well attended with visitors coming from Mexico and Australia, as well as many friends and family. I was delighted that three of my oil paintings were displayed (Towards the city, Avenue and Into the tree – see photo above). Many thanks also to my fellow artists and co-curators Chris, Tony, John and Cath.
The exhibition blog showing works by many artists is here and the show took place at Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 7DG who hold exhibitions throughout the year.
